Coaching

Faster
on purpose

Most riders do not get slower because they lack talent — they get stuck because nobody has ever stood on the outside of a corner and told them the truth. That is what a session with me is.

Coaching

Opening soon

Sessions are not open for booking yet.

Coaching in Australia has to run under a Motorcycling Australia accreditation and a permit — that is what makes a session insured for you and for me. I am not going to advertise sessions before that is in place, so dates and pricing go up the moment it is.

Register below and you will hear first. In the meantime the ride days are open to everyone.

What we work on

Four things, done properly

No drills for the sake of drills. We pick what is costing you the most time and we work on that until it holds under pressure.

01

Line choice

Where the fast line actually is when the track changes, and how to see it from the gate rather than lap five.

02

Body position

Corners, ruts, whoops and jump faces. Filmed, shown to you, corrected on the spot.

03

Bike setup

Clickers, sag, bar position, lever feel. Small changes that buy you a second a lap for free.

04

The head game

Starts, pressure, and what to do when it goes wrong mid-moto. I have had to learn this the hard way.

How a session runs

No mystery to it

  1. 01BeforeA short call or message so I know what you ride, where you ride, and what is frustrating you. I turn up already knowing what to look for.
  2. 02First lapsYou ride normally while I watch and film. No coaching yet — I need to see your habits, not your best behaviour.
  3. 03The honest bitWe sit down, watch the footage, and I tell you the two things costing you the most time. This is the part that stings and the part that works.
  4. 04The workDrill blocks on those two things, with feedback every time you come past. We change the bike if the bike is the problem.
  5. 05AfterA written plan for the next four weeks so the session does not evaporate on the drive home.

Affiliation & cover

Who sanctions it

Australian off-road sport has two independent sanctioning bodies. Coaching accreditation sits with Motorcycling Australia's NCAS framework; AMCA is an alternative path for events and racing. Cover follows the permit either way.

Ask any coach which body they are accredited with and whether your session is permitted. If either answer is vague, you are not insured — and that applies to me as much as anyone else.

Book

Get a session in the diary

Tell me what you ride and where. I will come back with dates and a price, usually inside a day or two.

Before you book

  • Any level. First-season juniors through to riders chasing a state title. Tell me honestly where you are at.
  • Bring a bike you trust. If the bike is unsafe we will spend the session fixing it instead of riding it.
  • Parents welcome. You are paying for it — you should hear the feedback too.
  • Wet weather. Mud is part of racing. We only move a session if the track is closed.
